Blogging Late in the Game

Okay, so let me get honest here- I do NOT want to blog. The idea of blogging seemed like the thing I would LEAST likely want to do- EVER. A blank screen and a blinking cursor are things that haunted my dreams through years of school. But as we’re approaching the one-year mark of our travels, I’m finding a strange phenomena occurring:

I’M FORGETTING.

Listen, I don’t know if it’s motherhood, life before I got sober, or just plain age, but my memory is losing its luster- like in a crazy way. And quite honestly, that’s terrifying for all kinds of reasons. But a really pressing one is that I don’t want to lose the memories I’m making with my family on this crazy journey to coasters and beyond. I think back to a year ago and the major memories are there but…. some are seeming to fade.

So here I am. Documenting. Reviewing. BLOGGING.

I will do my best to sit with Bean and recall the last year, and we will compile all of the experiences at theme parks, national and state parks and different attractions that we experienced in 2020 and the beginning of 2021.

In the meantime, we will take present experiences and blog them right away while they are still fresh. I am already microblogging over on Instagram if you want to take a peak over there. But here, will will get more in depth. We will talk about our favorite coasters and hikes, what to avoid at certain theme parks, how places are functioning in the midst of COVID-related policies and probably a funny anecdote from time to time because, in all realness, we’re ridiculous people and have ample amounts of stories to tell.

So in a way, I am getting a bit excited about the blogging experience. As much as the idea of writing makes me a little weak in the knees, the idea of having my memories stored energizes me. Not only that, it warms my heart to think some of you are on this grande voyage with us, sharing in our experiences- our ups and downs, our absurdity and our dysfunctions, and most importantly, our fun.
